Focus Heating & Cooling has been in business for 15 years servicing the Mid-Willamette Valley and the Santiam Canyon. We are a small company using experienced people to take care of our clients in a timely manner with conscientious and quality work. We employ seasoned service technicians and quality installers that have been trained to meet our high standards for customer service and unmatched quality. For both commercial and residential clients, Focus Heating & Cooling provides service for all brands and installation, specializing in Heat Pumps, AC, Gas & Electric Furnaces, and Ductless Units. Meet the Team
Lead HVAC Installer
Danny has worked at Focus for over ten years and worked his way to the lead install technician position. He holds a variety of certificates in duct work, refrigeration, and gas installation.
When not working Danny enjoys spending time with his family which includes wife and three young daughters, working on his truck and camping. He has lived in the Stayton area his whole life and attends Foothills Church.
HVAC Install Helper & Company Rep
Brad is a future Company Rep. for Focus Heating & Cooling. He has been learning the HVAC trade through assisting with installations and is currently training in the sales role. He has over 20 years of experience in excellent customer service with a home improvement retail, supply chain. He, also, spent over 5 years with the Colorado Army National Guard as a Blackhawk Helicopter Crew chief. Brad spends much of his time with his wife and 7 year old son. He also runs a small handyman business, on the side, building backyard games and small construction projects. He likes to take his son fishing, hiking and volunteers for trash pickups around the local parks and neighborhoods.
HVAC Service Technician
Kyle is a HVAC service technician with approximately ten years of experience that will bring the best customer care and knowledge to repair or maintain your heating and air conditioning system. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys gaming with the company of his cat.
Janci takes credit for the name “Focus”, to help remember that business is not what is important to focus on, but to keep the focus on Christ and family. After several years away from being hands on in the business, she has stepped back in and has developed a deep passion for keeping focus on the care of the Focus Heating & Cooling employees and customers. Outside of the business, she has been married since 1998 to Focus owner, Jason. Living on a farm with her husband, four children, parents, livestock, & pets makes for a busy life. While playing chauffeur to her kids and cheering them on in life brings her great joy. Photography and friends also bring a smile to her face.
HVAC Service Technician
Steve is a native Oregonian and is a Nate certified technician with 16 years experience who really enjoys his work! When not in his work truck, Steve can be found in his shop working on hot rods and antiques or playing in the garden with his wife Carolyn. His favorite part of his work is the customer service and is looking forward to serving our customers!
Todd Smedstad Sr.
CSR / DSR
Todd has been with my girlfriend Vicki for 17 years. Their biggest passion is going golfing. They enjoy the exercise they get while letting golf play us! Vicki has 2 daughters, Ginna and Sara and 2 grandchildren, Asher and Kyler. Todd was born in Silverton and grew up in the Willamette Valley and attended a small country school named Evergreen. It was a 3 roomed schoolhouse that had 1st-8th grade. He then went to Silverton High School where he graduated in 1983. He was married for 15 years and I have one son named TJ. He is a dog lover. Raised around dogs and they have been a part of his entire life. He enjoys helping customers find resolution for the issues they are having. By scheduling bids and service calls, Todd is able to interact directly with our customers which will build value and loyalty to help Focus to continue to grow.
Windy joined the Focus team in March of 2020. She wears many hats within the company including greeting our customers on the phone and in person, data entry, and scheduling permits. Married for just over 20 years, her and her husband have two children together and a sweet dog to bring them all joy.
Don has worked in the HVAC industry 30+ years. He started at the bottom of the trade and worked his way up the ladder, from grunt to leadership. He always brings honesty, integrity, and experience to each of the jobs that he touches. Listening to the customers is important in helping to figure out what will work best for them. The values of Focus Heating & Cooling are the same as those of Don and that is why he is such a great fit for the company. In Don’s personal life, he is originally from Montana where there were only two things that mattered, your word and your handshake. He also enjoys spending time away camping with his family.
I have been in the industry a little over a year. He started off doing commercial HVAC and is now an HVAC Install Helper with us.
Daniel brings a positive attitude and drive to learn more and more about the trade. What he value most about Focus is how connected everyone is and how much they actually care about their employees. He is a resident of Stayton and loves to spend time with God, fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors and exploring.
As owner of Focus, he has worked every aspect of the job from install to sales to management. His intent is to give information to the customer in order to allow them to make the best decision for themselves. Tinkering on the farm, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors provides the well earned breath of fresh air for Jason. He is also very involved at church and in the community.
Frank is an installer with four years of experience working residential retrofit in the HVAC career field. He grew up in Honolulu, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is bilingual (Japanese), and travels often. His hobbies include taking care of my three Bichon Frisé.
HVAC Service Dept. Manager
Ken is a HVAC service technician and installer working around the Santiam Canyon. He currently lives in Salem with his wife of 35 years and they have raised 6 children together. His work ethic is based on old fashioned values of customer service and quality of work. Ken went to HVAC schooling at Universal Technical Institute in Arizona. He graduated as a Alpha Beta Kappa honor student and continues to take service classes to this day. Ken loves to use his 33 years of experience to teach the younger generations. In his spare time, Ken enjoys woodworking and hacking balls around the local golf course (weather permitting).
HVAC Service Tech.
Josh graduated from Stayton High in 2009 and soon after joined the Army, serving 5 1/2 years as an Infantryman. He married his wife while on mid tour leave from deployment in Iraq in 2011 and has two children. During his time in the military he attended an 8 week HVAC course, learning the basic fundamentals of HVAC service work, to assist soldiers with transitioning back into civilian life. It was a great course, and was able to work as an HVAC service technician almost immediately after leaving the military. He finished a 4 year HVAC apprenticeship at Chemeketa Community College. All of his hobbies until recently have included combat sports, wrestled through high school and trained at an MMA gym in the off season. He had two amature MMA fights and had competed in several Submission wrestling tournaments through the years. He also had an opportunity for a few months to train full time as a fighter in the Army as my day to day job. Last year he moved on to racing competitive go karts at tracks all over the northwest joined by his family.
