Jason Burns

Owner

As owner of Focus Heating & Cooling, he has worked every aspect of the job from install to sales to management. His intent is to give information to the customer in order to allow them to make the best decision for themselves.

Tinkering on the farm, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors provides a well-earned breath of fresh air for Jason. He is also very involved at church and in the community.

Janci Burns

Janci takes credit for the name "Focus" to help remember that business is not what is important to focus on but to keep the focus on Christ and family. After several years away from being hands-on in the business, she has stepped back in and has developed a deep passion for keeping focus on the care of the Focus Heating & Cooling employees and customers.

Outside of the business, she has been married since 1998 to Focus Heating & Cooling owner Jason. Living on a farm with her husband, four children, parents, livestock, and pets makes for a busy life. While playing chauffeur to her kids and cheering them on in life brings her great joy. Photography and friends also bring a smile to her face.

Brad Huberts

Brad is the operations manager for Focus Heating & Cooling. Born and raised in Michigan, he has lived in multiple states and cities throughout the continental United States. He began his career with Focus in 2019, helping with installation and sales, and learning the HVAC trade. Since 2020, Brad has been devoted to helping our customers find the right solutions to heat and cool their homes and workplaces. He has over 20 years of experience in excellent customer service and spent that time in various leadership, supply chain, retail, and construction roles.

One of Brad’s passions is serving others. He has spent hundreds of hours volunteering in local projects for people with disabilities to aid in their mobility, street clean-ups, and different food banks. He spent a short time with the Stayton Fire Department and spent over five years serving in the Colorado Army National Guard as a Black Hawk helicopter crew chief.

Danny Wilson

Lead HVAC Installer

Danny has worked at Focus Heating & Cooling since 2009 and worked his way to the lead install technician position. He holds a variety of certificates in ductwork, refrigeration, and gas installation.

When not working, Danny enjoys spending time with his family, which includes wife and three young daughters, working on his truck and camping. He has lived in the Stayton area his whole life and attends Foothills Church.

Ken Barton

Ken is the install manager for Focus Heating & Cooling. He currently lives in Salem, OR with his wife of 40 years, and they have raised six children together. They are currently spoiling their five grandchildren!

His work ethic is based on old-fashioned values of customer service and quality of work. Ken went for HVAC schooling at the Universal Technical Institute in Arizona. He graduated as an Alpha Beta Kappa honor student and continues to take HVAC classes to this day. Ken loves to use his over 38 years of experience to teach the younger generations. In his spare time, Ken enjoys woodworking and hacking balls around the local golf course (weather permitting).

Mendi Everett

Dispatcher/Incentive Specialist

Mendi has been working at Focus Heating & Cooling since August 2023. She brings a variety of skills to the team, developed through her years of experience managing a household, homeschooling for 21 years, and coordinating the many aspects of ministry that took us to Brazil for 10 years. 

Mendi has been married to her husband, Steve, since 1987. Together, they have five adult children and five grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing games, laughing, reading, writing, teaching, learning, and cooking.

Johnny Lackner

Johnny (John) Lackner was born and raised in the Stayton area. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty, and they have been happily married for 37 years. Together, they have raised five children and are proud grandparents to two grandchildren whom they love dearly.

Johnny moved to Salem after getting married, but after ten years, he returned to Stayton, where they currently reside. In his professional life, he has worked in manufacturing facilities, spending many years as a department supervisor. Johnny's hobbies are camping in their trailer and spending time with family and friends.

Trevor Barton

A second generation HVAC tech who is always ready to improve and learn new skills. For Trevor, HVAC isn't just about fixing heating and cooling systems; it's about creating a comfortable environment for families and businesses. Whether a scorching summer day or a bitter winter night, Trevor understands the importance of reliable climate control in maintaining comfort, health, and well-being. Where emergencies can arise, Trevor's reliability and dedication shine through. In his off time Trevor enjoys spending time with his friends and family and tinkering around machinery.

John Mendrin

John is the service manager at Focus Heating & Cooling and has been a service technician for over 30 years. He has always been focused on the best customer service possible. He appreciates every customer to whom he has ever provided service.

John and his wife have six children and four grandchildren. He likes to be outdoors and enjoys fishing, bike riding, hiking, and taking walks.

Corey Emerson

Corey is one of Focus Heating & Cooling’s comfort advisors. He was born in Salem, OR, and has lived in Oregon his whole life. He has been in the HVAC industry for twenty-five years and has installed in every aspect of the industry. He is a father and a grandfather, who enjoys spending time with family and the great outdoors. His focus is helping customers save money and stay comfortable in their homes.

Allison Roland

Allison is a newer addition to the Focus team! Born and raised in the Midwest, the heart of the USA with good people, good food, and extreme weather! She enjoys serving the Pacific Northwest community. Her favorite things to do outside of work are bonfires, camping, fishing, roller skating, and celebrating holidays with friends and family.

Autumn Birdsong

Autumn Birdsong is the customer service representative/administrative assistant at Focus Heating & Cooling. She was born and raised in rural SE Salem, and she loves her Oregon roots! Her travels as an adult have also landed her in Hamilton, MT and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She and her family settled in Stayton, OR three years ago and she thoroughly enjoys getting back to the small town feel. She takes pride in the community and greatly appreciates representing such a remarkable family-owned company.

After owning her own business in the service industry for over 15 years, she understands the importance of excellent customer service. Our customers' comfort is definitely her FOCUS! Her job is a pleasure because she has complete confidence in our competent, compassionate technicians and our 5-star reputation. She finds delight in chatting with our repeat customers when they call to schedule seasonal maintenance appointments! In her free time, she enjoys fishing, thrifting, cooking, and adventuring with her family. 

Katie Cathcart

Katie has worked at Focus Heating & Cooling since June 2024 as a bookkeeper/CSR. Although the job is ever-changing, she is always up for that challenge. She previously worked as a service dispatcher in the HVAC field and has years of bookkeeping experience in different fields.

Katie was born and raised in Corvallis with her twin sister and little brother but has lived in Scio for ten years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, concerts, being outdoors when the Oregon weather allows it, camping, canning, baking, and cooking. She is always up for a trip to the coast or an adventure with friends.

Stuart Lindsey

Stuart is one of our expert service technicians. He was born in Arizona and moved to Oregon. He started working at Focus Heating & Cooling in 2022. He has a universal license, a NATE certification, and a gas furnace certification. He likes to play video games and watch movies with his family. He enjoys eating spicy foods. He likes to learn new things and techniques to be the best technician he can be in serving the customer. 

Enrique Garcia

Enrique is one of our lead installers and has been with Focus Heating & Cooling for one year. He has been in the trade for nine years in various roles and positions and graduated top of his class at the Institute of Technology. Enrique has lived in Oregon most of his life and enjoys quads, camping, and outside work. His family is the most important thing in his life. His goal is to become a manager at Focus Heating & Cooling. He loves helping customers get comfortable in their homes.

Juan Alacantar

Juan is one of our install apprentices and has been with us for one year. He is new to the HVAC trade and is quickly growing and learning the skillsets necessary to become a lead installer. His family is at the top of his priority list and he enjoys gaming and adventuring.

Ismael Perdomo

Ismael (Is) has been with Focus Heating & Cooling for seven years. He began as an install helper and is now an install lead. He has lived in Oregon his entire life and enjoys building cars. Is currently has a loud orange Mustang that he enjoys driving in the summer. His family is his number one priority and his wife owns a salon in downtown Stayton. He spent some time as a Mill City volunteer firefighter and enjoys helping his community.

Julian Flores

Julian has been with Focus Heating & Cooling for two years and is working to become a lead installer. He is currently an install apprentice, who is ready to take on more responsibilities and start leading his own jobs. Julian has lived in Oregon for most of his life and enjoys working on cars and hanging out with his family. He loves his community and is looking forward to purchasing his own home.

Corey Lewis

Corey is a Navy veteran who has called Silverton home for most of his life. He is happily married to his wonderful wife and is a proud father of three. A passionate hockey fan, Corey also enjoys playing the trumpet as part of a local band. With three years of experience in the HVAC industry, Corey brings dedication and a strong work ethic to his craft, ensuring comfort and quality for every customer he serves.

Matt Brown

Matt is our beloved shop guy. He keeps us organized and runs parts to the teams when needed. Matt has been with Focus Heating and Cooling for 4 years. He has children and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes are fishing and spending time outdoors.
