Learn More About Focus Heating & Cooling

Have a heating or cooling-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Do you provide financing?

Yes! There's no need to put off your AC repair service — we offer financing through Enhancify, Craft 3, and Synchrony.

  • Do you offer rebates or incentives?

Yes, we offer many incentives through the Energy Trust of Oregon. We also have financing options available. Learn more about our incentives for AC, boiler, and heat pump repair services when you call today!

  • When should I have my heater or cooling system maintained?

To prevent the need for AC repair service at the peak of summer, we recommend getting your system serviced a least once a year. This is true for both heating and cooling systems.

Save yourself the stress of scheduling maintenance or last-minute repairs when you join our service partner agreement. Call to learn more about this partnership today!

  • How often should I replace my filters?

Depending on the filter, we would recommend replacing your filters at least twice a year, depending on air quality. Dirty filters can overwork your system, which can cause a need for AC repair service.

  • What should I set my thermostat to?

70-72 degrees is an optimal temperature range for every season, especially summer. Setting your thermostat too low in warmer months can result in the need for an AC repair service because the system has been overworked.

If you have further questions about your thermostat, call us today!

  • What should I do if my heat pump is frozen over?

If this happens, turn off the pump and contact us. Once one of our qualified technicians arrives, we will review the system and conduct the necessary heat pump repair.

  • What should I do if the heat pump is not heating or cooling?

If your heating and cooling aren't working correctly, it could be a number of things. The best way to determine if you need to schedule a heat pump repair is to do the following:

    • Check the breaker
    • Check filters
    • Check batteries in thermostats

If there's no change after checking these items, call us right away.

  • How can I improve indoor air quality?

We recommend the iWave air scrubber as it is virtually maintenance-free and does not require any replacement bulbs or filters.

Improving the air quality of your home can help you avoid AC, heating, and boiler repair.

  • What if my system is leaking?

There are a number of reasons why your system may be leaking. Sometimes, the condensation of the cooling elements can drip, which can often be remedied without professional assistance.

However, if your leak is coming from another source, a technician would be needed to come and test the system. We should be able to perform AC repair service at that time.

  • What if my thermostat is not working?

The primary culprit for unresponsive thermostats is usually batteries! If replacing the batteries does not resolve the issue, there may be a more complex problem. Many manufacturers have online assistance that can help diagnose the cause.

That being said, we would be happy to offer assistance! You can call Focus Heating & Cooling for everything from thermostat issues to boiler repair.
